This is 15-25 minute test to ascertain what sort of cues help when we have word finding difficulties - often described as that "tip of the tongue" feeling.
You are being asked to identify 107 pictures which are in two sections; 57 are of objects and the second 50 of corporate logos. When you see the picture, if you can identify it, speak the answer and hit the space bar to go to the next picture. Please try to find the exact word and do not use generalisations.
Each picture is shown for 5 seconds, you will then receive an audible cue and a further 5 seconds to answer. Finally you'll see 3 alternative choices on screen to select from, say the answer when you see it OR if you still don't know then say "I don't know". Please do not guess your answer or work it out by a process of elimination at this stage. There is no time limit on this last section. To move on, you hit the space bar (you can't go back).
All your answers have to be recorded onto a dictaphone or recording software so please don't start until you are directed to do so.
You will find it quite hard but that's the point of the study - to see which type of clues work best!
Remember, you can speak you answer during any one of the 3 stages and move onto the next picture at any time by hitting the space bar.
Now hit the space bar to go to the two example pictures. Let the system run through the first two pictures to allow you to understand the flow of each picture and the subsequent clues.
PLEASE REMEMBER NOT TO USE GENERIC TERMS FOR WORDS - BE AS SPECIFIC AS YOU CAN WITH YOUR ANSWERS AND DON’T GUESS WHEN PRESENTED WITH THE 3 ALTERNATIVES.
